Year 12 Studio Arts Excursion

On Wednesday the 19th of September, Year 12 Studio Arts students visited Monash University Museum of Art (MUMA) in Caulfield and the Ten-Cubed, a private collection gallery in Malvern. This visit was to attend the most popular education program MUMA provides, and it allows students to get a better understanding of the art industry. This program also addresses all areas of key knowledge in Art Industry Contexts (Unit 4 Outcome 3). During this visit to MUMA and Ten-Cubed, students were given a great opportunity to meet a variety of arts professionals at each venue. From this special opportunity, they have learned how curators and designers develop, present and market exhibitions. There was also an opportunity to go behind-the-scenes to the storerooms at both galleries to learn about numerous conservation methods.
